Dr. Stephannie Moore brings an eclectic array of experience into her work as a performer and educator. Her teaching career spans more than two decades, specializing in Musical Theatre and Classical Voice for professionals and aspiring professionals.  A sought-after audition and performance coach, her students perform on stages across the US, UK, Europe, Africa and Asia and many of them are award-winning professional singers and emerging artists in the industry.

 

Dr. Moore is on the faculty of Lynn University's Department of Drama and has taught at Florida International University and the University of Miami in both Musical Theatre and Vocal Performance programs. As a clinician, she has presented on such topics as crossover singing styles, contemporary voice techniques for classical singers, collaboration between voice clinic and voice studio, vocal hygiene for the musical theatre artist and mindfulness strategies for performance anxiety. Dr. Moore holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Michigan and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance from the University of Miami. In conjunction with the Department of Laryngology at the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine, she is an active clinical researcher of voice disorders across singing genres and frequently collaborates with the team to rehabilitate singing voices that have suffered vocal fold injuries and other voice disorders. Other areas of research include the use of mindfulness practices in the voice studio and techniques to support total wellness of the performing artist. Two of her recent articles, "Prevention Not Intervention: Stewarding Healthier Singers into University Musical Theatre Programs" and "Unique Vulnerabilities for the Musical Theatre Performer" are specific to musical theatre singing risks and her collaborative research is presented in the article, "Vocal Fold Pathologies Among Undergraduate Singing Students in Three Different Genres."

 

Dr. Moore has a private voice studio in southeast Florida, where she works with professional and pre-professional-level singers, including a select number of aspiring performers by audition. She is a proud member of the Musical Theatre Educators Allliance (MTEA), the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), Maestra Music, and she is a Recognized Vocologist (RV) through the Pan American Vocology Association.
